all, well, i should start by saying how glad i am to have found that GO is still alive and well (that was a bit of an overstatement...). it's been 7 years since i last touched the game (yep, 7 long long years ). and after so long, i can't bear the thought of losing it again. as such, i was wondering if anyone had any experience/advice into running a GO server and could provide some information related (but not limited to) the following: . bandwidth . specs (ram, disk space) . server settings (logs, stats etc...) . hosting (coloc, shared, virtual, ...) . anything else that comes to mind much appreciated! norecoil PS> some post on the forum states that people tend to use IRC instead of this board - could anyone provide the chan/host?

Hello, NoRecoil. Im BoB... iv been around...... and i get around......... For your average homebased server.. it say you would want a 1mbit upload+ with 1gb ram... with any harddrive you can find... Setting up game stats is easy... all you need is the logs.. so enable logging in the server.cfg... Alot of people say the linux servers run better. Personaly whenever iv hosted from home i prefer windows. Linux is being a bitch and being picky.. im currently troubleshooting the required librarys and etc. Id suggest atleast a 1.5ghz processor. (some maps can be a very large cpu hog... E.G. USA) Iv been hosting servers for this game for years.. professionaly hosted.. and non. Iv hosted NAC and SoL... any server questions if your serious e-mail me at admin@bobysundergroundtown.com
