Greetings, glad to see this game is not dead...online that is. I've played this game since 2003 but NEVER played it online, I still have my legit cd and cd key from the store when I bought it, very good game but got addicted to the Half Life series and left Global Operations for it but I decided to come back and discovered this site. I downloaded the 3.5.1 game .exe and installed GO and a popup saying "Access Denied" and then I got this error... I am running Windows Vista 32bit version. Much help would be appreciated.

Most of the time, errors like these are due to a virusscanner which "detects" the update as a virus/trojan.
This is not the case, its a false positive due to the way the files are protected against "hacking". The best would be to "tell" the virusscanner not to scan this file and the global operations directory, or flag those files as trusted.

To my opinion you can already try to reinstall the game then use the simple patch 3.5 here thelostparadise.com/GlobalOps/3.5/ and to install maps separately after ( rapidshare.com/files/114819195/allmaps.rar ). Maybe it's the patch " revival " which raises problem (where are you downloaded that one I have never seen it ). Already do it otherwise wait that specialists give you better advice ! Me I have installed the game on one of my notebook (which went up in flames a hard drive recently but it's another story ) and which had this shit of vista and I had no problems for the installation...

Hey mate, i had the exactly same problem Although mine WAS due to a virus scanner (AVG 8) it detects cress.dll as a PUP (Potentially unwanted program) and it did it for a few other GO files...all i did was add those files to the exception list, and bingo it worked again. I cant believe your having this problem without running a virus scanner...i know that XP SP3 included a microsoft malcious software remover, perhaps vista comes with this standard and your just not aware of it? This could be the problem. In which case you would need to find it and tell it that GO is safe =]
