Last couple of weeks i`ve been working on a new/improved version of schinasea and srilanka.
Client: www.thelostparadise.com/files/worlds.rez
Server: www.thelostparadise.com/files/schinasea.dat and www.thelostparadise.com/files/srilanka.dat
Those versions are ment as a replacement of the original files, not like SriLanka2004 which basicly is a different version.
I`ve tried to keep the original maps as original as possible, so no new entrances etc.
Changes which are made are:
SChinaSea
- Added spawnbot (Sergeant Pepper) at ASOF side
- Added ladder(s) at front lids (lowerdeck entrances at ASOF side)
- Removed all double/unneeded walls at bridge
- Rebuilded a huge part of the bridge
- Relocated the start button at bridge (little more to the left)
- Fixed all camera control units and added noplayerzones around the cams
- Removed/fixed several colliding wall parts
- Rebuilded most railings
- Fixed cabinet/boxes exploits at bridge
- Fixed several other exploits
- Changed lowerdeck and bridge sounds
- Retextured several containers
- Retextured all railings
- Relocated spawn bot and respawns at Pirates side (more save for ASOF to use the deck stairs)
- 100+ more minor changes and fixes
Overall map size reduced with 1.3Mb, overall map performance enhanced with 10-20% (server and client side)
SriLanka
- Added spawnbot at VLF temple (re)spawn.
- Removed all floor/ground parts at the rocks
- Retextured water and waterfall
- Added several noplayerzones at exploit places
- Lowered the temple frontwall
- Changed army chopper route to avoid unneeded kills (when player is behind front temple wall)
- Added a "real" ladder at the tower
- Fixed small gap at destructable walls at temple entrance
- Retextured several places/objects
- 100+ more minor changes and fixes
Overall map size reduced with 0.5Mb
Some places still could be abuse/exploited with the F8 trick, but we will try to get that fixed in a client update. (when we have time and get it done)
Atm i`ve not fixed every possible way of exploiting (getting in crates/containers) because it would enlarge the map with 0.5-1.0Mb and this whas`nt something i wanted.
