maybe Spooktah or EL Scorpion can help to u... Hey there. Scorpion was interested and has quite some experience with mapping, but thats about it. No1 else. I havent talked to spookstah, but I would bet this would need more than 3 people...Plus Scorpion is skipping town for a couple of weeks. Oh well

Hi guys, Bringing Global Ops over to the Source engine is an awesome idea and I've been thinking about rounding up some like minded people to get started on helping make the GO mod possible for source. I was hoping to speak to Spookstah regarding this idea as I know he's a pretty awesome mapper for GO. With the benefits of the new engine, awesome things could happen and it would make the mod more accessable to people and it would keep the game alive and new. While obviously it wouldn't be 100% the same as the original as long as the game play is there with some familiar maps and weapons it would no doubt be a better game long term with the ability to modify and update it as required. Maps would auto download, mappers would support the mod and the game would boom big time. 3 essential maps that would remain similar if ported over to source: Mexico (which i might try test mapping soon) Antarctica Sri Lanka Lemme know your thought and if anyone is interested in helping in any way please let me know. DON'T LET GO DIE! This would be a great way of getting many, many more people playing and interested in a game that is so much better than CSS in so many ways. Cheers, - Global Operator

I doubt getting mappers would be a problem... Guess if you want to pull this off you should start with some people that can code it and people that can model... I started to make mexico for css a few days ago, but didn't have enough good images to get a good idea of the measurements on the map. The tacmaps only show the roofs, so drawig out the map is harder than I hoped, once that is done making the map shouldn't be a problem at all... (hint, if anyone got better overviews of mexico then I would realy appreciate them )

There is a tool to extract the original map files from the rez file I think. Visit go.erwination.com/ Lots of help on GO mapping there.

I never used GO-edit, but afaik there are only a few maps you can actually open in GO-edit, and that is because they allso have the map files of them...(like SL and scs)
