Ok i have got a problem from the 3.5 patch.
One day i loaded up GO and just got a black screen and it just kept doing that so i decided to unistall it then reinstall it. But this time i just got a message global operations clinet has encountered a problem and has to shutdown...etc so i try system restore...same thing happens.
I attempt to uninstall and reinstall again i notice with the orignal and patch 2.0 everything works fine.
Then i install patch 3.5.1 and i get the message when i try to load it up global operations has encountered a problem...etc
So i decide to do a bit of scouting around on add/remove programs and find something called global operations update i think this is the patch 3.5 which i think is interefing with patch 3.5.1 i try to remove it but i get this message.
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource which is unavailable.
Click ok or try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installion package "global operations update.msi" in the box below.
I go to remove global operations update and it gives this message
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource which is unavailable.
Click ok or try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installion package "global operations update.msi" in the box below.
use source:
C:/..etc
so i click ok and this happens
The path C:/etc cannot be found.Verify u have access to this location and try again or try to find the installion package "global operations update.msi" in a folder which you can install the product global operations update.
Im looking for help on how to fix GO and if the original patch 3.5 is the problem how to remove it.
Thanks for reading this and thanks if u can give me any help.

I am having the same problem when I download the patch. Everything was going good until I loaded up the game and it said there was a problem and the feature you are trying to use is on a network that is unavailable. I tried some other ways and tried different sources but it still does not work. It won't even let me open up to Global Operations. Can someone please help me with this? Is there a certain source it is looking for? Thanks.

I`m back from my vacation so i can answer questions again.
Mostlikely your virusscanner is giving this issues, disable it while installing or allow the install file and also do not let the scanner scan the GO dir(s).
I assume you use Avast or McAfee7.
About the uninstall issues, the update extracts a .msi file to your temp directory while installing, mostlikely this file is`nt there anymore so it can not be found for uninstalling. Just delete whole GO map and check if all GO related registry keys are deleted aswell.

I unistalled go (not completely with regedit) 2. got the 3.5 patch of my clan mate via msn (just the 3.5 patch, not the 3.5.1 patch) 3. It worked It seems that windows xp sp2 has a problem with the 3.5.1 patch and will only work with the 3.5 patch. I heard other people had the same problem with xp sp2 on global-ops.eu.

I doubt it, because we did release 3.5.1 because it had problems with windows 2000 en windows XP SP1 while it worked flawless on XP SP2.

There is nothing wrong with this patch and it is certainly faster as version 3.0. We have tested it on Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP (SP1 & SP2) and Windows Vista, on low-, mid- and highend systems and on all systems we did get the same average FPS as with the official 2.0 update.

hi ho. im getting a problem when im trying to launch my GO now when i try to launch it i get this error message: "A component of Global Operations is already running" wich ofc it aint. now im wondering wich processes aint allowed to have running while starting GO ? i'v had the same problem before, but then i just had to start fraps after i'v launched GO. this time around i dont even have fraps installed.. so it cant be that now. btw, it works perfectly if i just log in to another account. (but it aint very fun to use that kind of workaround) ahh and im using winXP

*sigh*
Whatever your superduper anti-virus program says, there is no virus in GlobalOps 3.5(.1). The virus-warning is simply a false positive, as we have explained numerous times before, both here on the forum and on the download page itself.
If you don't trust us, fine, but don't post useless rubbish on this forum.
