We are trying to find the cause of the client freezes and we can use your help, we did make a huge dump from all the outgoing data from our GO server and now we need the data the clients get from the server. We need the data that is send to the clients just before they freeze because it looks like that server sends some nasty data to the clients that cause the freezes. Now you guys/girls come in (if you want to ofcourse). Download those two files: winpcap.polito.it/install/bin/WinPcap_2_3.exewindump.polito.it/install/bin/alpha/WinDump.exeInstall WinPcap in any directory you want and drop/put windump.exe on a hdd with some free diskspace bv. D:\windump\WinDump.exe Now before you start playing GO, go into a Dos box (goto Start-Run and type: cmd or command(depending on the OS you have) and press enter) Now goto the directory you did drop WinDump.exe and type: windump -w dumpfile -s1500 udp and port 27888 and host 131.211.222.138 Where dumpfile is the file where all the data will be dumped in, you can give it any name you like. Now when you have a client freeze please send the dumpfile to: admin@thelostparadise.tk or spokey@internetexploder.nl. If you did play and havent had a client freeze please delete the dumpfile or if you did send me a dumpfile after a client freeze please delete the old one so i dont get the same dumpfile again We hope to find the bad data in the dump files you guys/girls are sending us and maybe we can find the solution

Also please tell us the time/date you had the client freeze when you do send us a dumpfile just to double check if the dumpfile is from the time/date you did have the client freeze.

Hi Spookstah.. As i tried to tell you ingame in Srilanka, windump.bot make my machine very very slow. first time i tried to join TLP1 with it running, it took me 3min to load AA, when i joined the game i was stuck 10sec every 3sec, impossible to play.. Second time i tried to join, it was srilanka, and i canceled map load after 7 min.. No dumpfile folder created..

Thats very odd, i played today hopeing to get some client freezes and i did get 3, what can i ask more but anyway windump just listens on a port and puts all the data it gets in a log file, so it shouldnt slow down anything (doesnt do that at my place anyway) but thanks for trying you are the 1st that gives it a try, others rather complain then help solving the problem i guess

k, I've at last got it set up, but my GF sometimes uses my laptop with ICS when I play so that will kinda screw up the dump I guess.
Ill have windump running any time shes not using it.
I get a LOT of freezes so I should have some dumps soon.

Just start it when you start playing GO and send me the file (zip it because it can be large) and delete it afterwards so you can make a new log/dump again or just rename the dumpfile to something like dunpfile-21-10-1 and after you get a client freeze again renam it to dumpfile-21-10-2 etc.
Make sure you use this command to start it or we wont get a dumpfile we can use: windump -w dumpfile -s1500 udp and port 27888 and host 131.211.222.138
It only captures data from the gameport so dont worry it will be screwed with bad data.
But when you stopped playing GO just stop windump, you dont need it when ur not playing.

I tired to get it working all last night but the dump files were only ever 24 bytes, i suspect something is wrong with the command line i used I put windump in the root of my C drive, could you please type the command line I should use exactly as I would enter it into the dos window so I can make sure I get it right. Thanks spook. Skunk

1st use the windump.exe i mentioned a few replys above and put it in any dir you want and make a windump.bat file (i do it this way) and put the following line in it:
windump -w dumpfile -s1500 udp and port 27888 and host 131.211.222.138
Now before you start playing go into dos (box) and start the the windump.bat (must ne in same dir as the windump.exe) that should work.
